Manchester submits World Cup 2018 Host City Bid

There's a chance England could host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. If it does, wouldn't it be great if the City of Manchester Stadium and Old Trafford played host to some of the games?

Today we travelled to Wembley Stadium to submit bid document, detailing exactly why the FA should choose Manchester as a Host City.

After posing at Manchester Piccadilly for photos...

...we boarded the train. On-board we chatted to Marketing Manchester's Chief Executive Andrew Stokes about exactly why the World Cup would be so good for Manchester's economy.

Arriving at Wembley, we waited our turn to submit our documents. Luckily we didn't have to wait long - the bid was handed to the Football Association in a short ceremony.

Then it was onto Wembley's 'Hallowed Turf' for photographs.

Before we left we got a chance to speak to Manchester Councillor Mike Amesbury about the cutltural impact the World Cup would have on the city.

On the train home we had a chance to relax and take stock of the morning's events with one of the bid's key organisers.

All that remains is for the FA to pick its host cities. The decision is scheduled for December.
